Visit Dzongri La at an altitude of 4250 m. It is one the most popular short high altitude treks in Sikkim.

Trek begins from here. This trek takes you through dense verdant Semi Tropical forest occasionally crossed by Crystal clear rivulets and cascading waterfalls up to Praig Chu.
After lunch a steep climb for an hour brings you to Tsokha - a small Tibetan hamlet from where the first glimpse of the mountains can be seen.
O/N at trekkers huts/tents. Approx. Alt. 3050m & Distance 16kms/6 hours.
A steep trail zigzags up through temperate forest and large clusters of rhododendrons, to the vast clearing of Phedang.
During April and May, the spectacle is gorgeous, as the land becomes a mass of flowers (400 species have been listed so far).
After 300m, we follow the ridge to Dzongri, a pasture area for Yuksam yaks from April to October.
Depending on the fitness of the group, we could head northwest to the Dzongri, where the panorama is stunning, over the Rathong glacier and further out towards the summits on the border with Nepal.
Or we could also organize a shorter ascent towards the Dzongri Peak (4320m) and enjoy a great view of Kanchenjunga (8586m), the third highest summit in the world.
Trek back to Tsokha. O/N at camp
Trek back from Tsokha to Yuksam. Transfer to hotel. O/N at Yuksam
Start your journey towards NJP / Bagdogra after bidding farewell to the mountains.

Sikkim Dzongri trek provides accommodation in trekker’s hut or guest house.
The temperature can drop down to sub zero levels.
Yes, you will find snow in your trekking route.
If you inform us while booking, Ghumakkad can organize porter / porters for you separately at an additional cost.
Ghumakkad’s representative will be there with you during the trip. If it’s a group of 15 or more people, then there will be a senior trip lead to accompany you.
Alcohol is extremely dangerous in cold, especially on high altitude. It doesn’t make you warmer; instead it opens your body pores making you colder. Hence, consumption of alcohol is extremely prohibited during the trek. Also smoking is not allowed during the trek.
